At ProfessionalWeddingDJ (DJ for destination weddings in Italy), we’re huge fans of the Grammy Awards (we haven’t missed one in years!). For couples getting married, this American event can be a fun and useful way to find the perfect soundtrack for your 2025 wedding. Many of the songs that win or are nominated for Grammys are romantic ballads or love songs that can be perfect for special moments like the first dance. In addition to the big names in music, the Grammys often highlight new talent and emerging artists (and this year was no exception). Discovering new music can be a way to find original and surprising songs for your wedding.

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards
The 67th Annual Grammy Awards took place on February 2nd and 3rd, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The organizers tried to balance the celebration of music with awareness of the tragedy that had struck the region, emphasizing the power of music to heal and unite communities (funds were raised for the MusiCares Fire Relief).
The evening saw the participation of numerous artists, including Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, RAYE, Sabrina Carpenter, and Shakira. Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monáe, and others also performed on stage, paying homage to Quincy Jones, who passed away in November 2024. Quincy Jones is best known for producing the best-selling album of all time, “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, but he was also the author and performer of two well-known songs such as “Ain’t no corrida” and his masterpiece “What’s going on”.

2025 wedding songs country: Beyoncé has the song for the occasion
- Album of the Year: Beyoncé for “Cowboy Carter,” which also won Best Country Album, after the Country Music Association had excluded it from every category.
- Romantic Moment: “Most Wanted” is undoubtedly the most suitable song for a romantic moment. The song talks about young love, when you start a relationship as a young person and you are ready to live it to the fullest, without brakes. We don’t know if it’s inspired by the real love stories of Beyoncé or Miley Cyrus. Beyoncé has been married to Jay-Z since 2008, while Miley Cyrus has been dating Maxx Morando since 2021. However, the press release for Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” confirmed that all the songs on the album are inspired by films.
- Beyoncé: Beyoncé has been a staple at wedding parties for years, with “Single Ladies” perfect for the bouquet toss!
- Shakira: Shakira, who won the Best Latin Pop Album for “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” is another favorite for the most danceable moments at a wedding, with the evergreen “Hips don’t lie.”
- 2025 Romantic Songs for Cake Cutting or First Dance:
- “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, performed at the 2025 Grammy Awards by the American artist (who missed out on the Best New Artist award, which went to Chappell Roan). “Beautiful Things” is a romantic ballad whose theme focuses on begging someone to stay and never leave, knowing that you need that person so much that you are terrified at the thought of losing them.
- “Die with a Smile” – Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars. This new duo won the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” award. The song explores the ephemeral nature of time in a love relationship, emphasizing the desire to live every moment to the fullest with the loved one. Through a series of evocative images, the text expresses the intensity of this feeling: the desire to spend every night as if it were the last, to stay next to the partner even if the party is about to end or time on Earth is about to expire. The emotion is so deep that it arouses a sense of fulfillment such that one can “die with a smile,” a theme that pervades the entire song.
- Elegant Wedding Dinner: “Visions” by Norah Jones (Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album). Norah Jones has been a popular choice for softer moments like wedding dinners for years.
- Kendrick Lamar: While Kendrick Lamar won “Record of the Year” and “Song of the Year” with “Not Like Us,” it’s not exactly wedding material! However, his song “HUMBLE.” is a great dance track, especially for international (especially American) weddings.
- Rock Wedding: The Beatles and the Rolling Stones were the big winners in the Rock category. The Beatles won for Best Rock Performance with “Now and Then,” while the Rolling Stones won Best Rock Album with “Hackney Diamonds.” Both bands are must-haves for rock-themed weddings. We’ve already talked about it here.
- Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards: This year’s recipients included Frankie Beverly, The Clash, Dr. Bobby Jones, Taj Mahal, Prince, Roxanne Shante, and Frankie Valli (leader of The Four Seasons).
- Billie Eilish: Billie Eilish’s performance of “Birds of a Feather” was a touching moment. While the song’s theme of eternal love, even after death, might be a bit dark for a wedding, it’s a powerful and original piece that many couples might have on their secret playlist.
