We at ProfessionalWeddingDJ (DJ for destination weddings in Italy), when the end of the year approaches, have always wanted to share ideas and thoughts about music with you.
2022 was a year full of weddings, many of which were postponed to 2020 and 2021, due to the Covid emergency. So, first of all, we would like to thank our spouses!
And from this privileged observation point, here are the songs that we have most frequently proposed in ProfessionalWeddingDJ wedding parties.
Specifically, we have put a particular focus on the proposals that are most suitable for accompanying, enhancing them, the key moments of the wedding party, which, typically, are the cutting of the cake and the first dance of the bride and groom.

For these important moments, we point out the pieces of two artists who have returned to the music scene after a few years off. Let’s start with Harry Styles, and the beautiful “Late Night Talking“, a love song, despite having a certain rhythm:

You are now in my life
Now you’re in my life

I can’t get you out of my head
I can’t get you off my mind

The other singer who has returned to the scene, leaving her mark, is Lady Gaga, who performed the soundtrack of the movie of the year: “Top Gun: Maverick”. The song we want to take as an example is “Hold My Hand“, which will appeal to the most romantic couples.

Michael Bublé has always been a romantic singer, and in 2022, “I’ll Never Not Love You“, taken from Higher (his eleventh studio album) is really a love song in the style of the Canadian crooner. It is Bublé himself who plays the protagonist of the video, with his partner Luisana Lopilato, who re-enact romantic scenes from the most famous love films such as Love Actually and Casablanca

Here is a piece:
I’ll never make you cry
I’ll treat you right, I’ll stand by you
And no matter whatever happens
I’II never not love you

Maggie Rogers following a 3-year hiatus in her musical career, also wrote and performed this lovely ballad (“That’s Where I Am“) that was well worth the wait.

“No, I’ll never find another, no one else can do it better / When we’re together, it feels like heaven / You’re the only one I ever wanted / All I ever really wanted was you”.

Turning towards Italian music, Elisa (famous in Italy for singing unforgettable romantic songs), with ““O forse sei tu

“Sarà che tra tutto il casino sembra primavera, Sarà che la vertigine non mi fa più paura, E guardo giù, O forse sei tu, O forse sei tu”

“Maybe it seems like spring among all the chaos, Maybe it’s just that vertigo doesn’t scare me anymore, And I look down, Or maybe it’s you, Or maybe it’s you”

Wedding music is certainly important in the “key moments”, but in reality, throughout the party, from the aperitif to the favors, the soundtrack must be perfect, making the bride and groom and their guests feeling good.

Let’s start by dealing with an artist who has had a place of honor in wedding parties for many years: let’s talk about Beyoncé. The singer from Houston, who has accompanied in many occasions the bouquet toss with “Single ladies”, this year stood out with “Break my soul” (from the Renaissance album); a rhythmic piece, suitable to be played before the wildest phases of the party. Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” and “2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)” are also particularly suitable for this purpose. What about Calvin Harris? In 2022 he didn’t released the typical dance song, but with Halsey, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell, he produced “Stay with me“, full of funky suggestions and a 70s touch, brilliant and danceable, even if it’s not a floor filler.

And the Maneskins? Supermodel really deserves to be mentioned: the most famous Italian band in the world has scored a truly explosive hit.

And finally, let’s take a look to the most engaging music, that makes everyone dance on the dance floor, which made us go wild over the course of this 2022 (many songs, however, came out at the turn of the summer).

We have to start this section with the Black Eyed Peas, and their “Don’t You Worry“, that reminds the old hit (“I gotta feeling”), and “Simply the best“, with Anitta El Alfa.

Other big names who have produced dance hits in 2022? The Meduza, for example. Three Italian producers famous all over the world. They hit the spot with “Bad Memories“, but let’s not forget their previous hits “Piece of Your Heart” (their first hit of 2019) and “Tell It To My Heart “.

Also the Purple Disco Machine, always a protagonist of this yearly chart, in the past year has lounched (with Sophie and the Giants), the piece In The Dark, after the hits “Hypnotized”, “Fireworks”, “Dopamine ” from a few years ago. The German DJ is always liked for his style, which does not hide his vintage soul, preponderant in another piece that never stops making young and old dance: Gimme Gimme feat. Bleech (cover of the old Abba record) and “People“, by Kungs.

In any case, records from the 70s and 80s very often makes the difference and are very important for the success of a wedding party… Madonna, the Chic, Michael Jackson, Donna Summer, Santa Esmeralda, BoneyM and many others are real “institutions”!

Directly from the 90s, David Guetta & Bebe Rexha with I’m Good (Blue); that is the remake of the 1998 song by Eiffel 65, which, even in the original version, is an essential part of the “90s dance” moment, a pillar of our DJ set.

Among this year’s revelations, James Hype with “Ferrari“, which immediately brings back the club atmosphere, and Raffa Fl, with “Ritmo“, for those who appreciate latin rhythms more
